Here's how I mount my large beetles. Heres fresh T. giganteus. I use cardboard and stuff silica crystal packages underneath it to help dry it thoroughly. Symmetry is important to me and I dont like to pull the beetle until it is completely dry, this one took 5 weeks. I freeze them for 48hrs before I pull the pins to ensure no dermestid beetles are brought into the display case. R~

Very informative and useful, thank you for posting . I have not been this fortunate to mount such big beetles, but eventually, when I get away from my homeground (Denmark), I will. And to that time I will remember this post!

Hello Claes! I noticed that the data for your Titanus is January- taken in the Kaw reserve. Who collected that specimen/ It looks very much like the writing of one of my friends (M.D.) here in the U.S.- best regards- Megagyas
